JOB DESCRIPTION

Do you dream of transforming real estate? This dynamic proptech of 250 people revolutionizes the customer experience by offering innovative and transparent solutions. Their mission: to guarantee trust, reliability and service excellence throughout the life of the homes.

As a Lead Developer, you will join the Tech & Product team that designs and improves our platform and tools.

This strategic team is made up of about thirty people: software engineers, designers and product managers. The team is divided into several squads of about 5-7 developers and you will evolve within one of them according to the projects and your desires.

You will start your mission with a complete two-week onboarding where members of the team will introduce you to the processes and the technical stack. You will also participate in several pair-programming sessions to go more in-depth technically.

Delivery

  • You will develop features with the Ruby on Rails framework and server-side rendered pages;
  • You will participate in the development of the internal API for the customer areas built in React for the Front team;
  • You will proofread other developers’ code to ensure optimal code quality;
  • You will participate in the maintenance of the platform by fixing bugs and continuously improving the codebase (version bump, improvement of the developer experience, etc.);
  • You will participate in weekly rituals to improve coding practices, our processes and the quality level of our deliverables by having a real impact on decisions.

Management

  • Technical supervision of a team of full-stack developers by ensuring the quality, performance and security of the product and maintaining a good delivery pace;
  • Management of the team’s developers by supporting their progress and managing their careers;
  • In tandem with the product manager, you will prepare the topics for the next sprints by being the technical guarantor of the project;
  • Interact with other teams to ensure technical consistency of the codebase and highlight topics.
  • In direct interaction with the CTO, you will be a source of proposals and decision-making on the target technical vision of the platform.

FYI: Delivery Organization

  • 3-week sprint that follows the next cycle
  • Srint planning to define the scope of the upcoming sprint as a team
  • Daily meetings in order to communicate on the progress of the various tickets and remove any blockages
  • Regular refinements in order to prepare the tickets for the next sprints
  • A retrospective to iterate on our ways of operating with clear actions
  • A demo to present the sprint deliveries to the whole team

YOUR SKILLS

Ruby on Rails: it is a framework that allows us to quickly develop new features and have a robust architecture. Turbo and Stimulus for front-end needs;

  • PostgreSQL/Redis as databases;
  • Minitest & Jest for the test suite;
  • Sidekiq for asynchronous tasks (workers);
  • Github Actions & Circle CI for continuous integration;
  • Heroku for deployment;
  • Jira as a project management tool, Github as a code management tool.

YOUR PROFILE

  • 7 to 10 years of development experience, with strong expertise in Ruby on Rails.
  • A first experience in technical supervision or team mentoring (3 years minimum).
  • Ability to code on a daily basis while keeping an overview.
  • Good knowledge of scalability, performance, and security issues.
  • Comfortable with cloud environments
  • Sense of collaboration, feedback and support.
  • You are pragmatic, product-oriented, and you seek to build robust solutions for the benefit of users.
